Together with Wyn Davies, I am delighted to announce that the 12th Edition of Europe AF will be held again in London on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th, December 2022.
This edition of the meeting will be the first since the Covid pandemic. It will be a great opportunity for all of us to meet and take up again the pleasure of old-time face-to-face contacts!
Consistent with its tradition, the meeting will cover all relevant aspects of Atrial Fibrillation, from recent discoveries in basic electrophysiology, to pathophysiology, new diagnostic tools and therapies. Also consistent with its tradition, a special session will be held on the first part of Day 2 addressing the most recent results from innovative technologies applied to AF treatment.
New this year!
This edition of the meeting will also host three important new contributions!
First, Prof. Richard Shilling, a worldwide well recognized member of the EP scientific and clinical community, will join Dr. Wyn Davies and me in the role of meeting Directors. This year, my dear friend Wyn is retiring and together, we thought that somebody of a next generation should carry some of the many tasks and responsibilities in the organization and conduction of a meeting like Europe AF. Wyn will continue in his unreplaceable role of guidance and reference for the future editions of Europe AF.
Second, an “ECG Course” will be held on Monday 12th December between 3 00 pm and 6 30 pm, the afternoon right before the beginning of the official program. As technology increasingly pervades EP practice, signals from various sources have raised our attention to the need for reappraising the solid principles of basic electrocardiography. The ECG Course, moderated by Drs. Rowland, Schilling, Davies and myself, is intended for taking participants’(EP fellows, cardiologists, electrophysiologists, general practitioners) skills to a next level of expertise. ECGs and intracardiac electrograms from real-case investigations will be commented through a lively interaction between moderators and attendees.
Third, a brand new session, “Networking and Meet the Mentors” has been added to the official meeting program on Day 1 starting at 17 15. During this 90-min session, informal mixing over drinks will take place in parallel sessions between Mentors and attendees on the following matters: “Bringing an Invention to Market”, “Getting a Non-Industry Grant”, “Are There Different Challenges for Women Pursuing a Career in Cardiac EP?”, “Completing a Multi-center Trial”, and “Getting Investigator-initiated Grants from Industry”.
Christmas in London!
As an extra-token, this year Europe AF will be held only two weeks before Christmas. During this very special time, London is more spectacular than in any other period of the year.
Together with Wyn and Richard, I hope you will consider to join us to Europe AF 2022 and I look forward to welcoming you in London for this special event!
